DESCRIBED as a folk/pop duo, The Firetree are creating a large following for themselves touring up and down the east coast promoting their second EP.

Dale Buchan and Josephine Cubis might look like your typical folk act but Dale said the band was not that easy to peg.

Last night, the duo performed at trendy Maroochydore night spot Sol Bar and they were excited to head to Gympie next Friday to perform at Billy's.

The Firetree started out in Noosa, Dale told The Gympie Times yesterday.

aWe were based there for a couple of years,a he said. aWe were travelling to and from Byron Bay to record songs and then decided to move to Byron.a

Recently, they have performed a bunch of gigs in Sydney, toured Canada and are gaining fans in the US, but next week they will be in the Gympie Region again.

They competed in the National Music Muster talent search a couple of years back and have also performed at Rainbow Beach. …
