Drugs count

A YEPPOON man, 53, was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and drug utensils after he was searched by police while riding his bicycle on Barmaryee Rd at 3.20pm on Wednesday.

Police found a small bag containing green leafy material and a water pipe.

He is due to appear in the Yeppoon Magistrates Court on October 7.

Lantern walk

THE Leukemia Foundation is encouraging people to join its annual Light the Night walk at sunset on October 5 at Alf Kele Memorial Park, Rockhampton.

A free lantern will be provided to those who register by 5pm on October 4.

Otherwise they can be bought on site for $5 each.

Entertainment will be provided and guest speakers will share their inspirational stories before the walk.

Registrations are now open at lightthenight.org.au.
