Built-in delays

THE number of lots is not necessarily the problem with council with regard to the slowing development. You could approve a million but if it takes too long or if it is made too hard, they will never be developed. I read the meeting minutes, I know what goes through and I also know how long it takes for council to process these things and the delays (sorry processes) that have been instigated by this council to slow it down and discourage the actual development of the lots.

Cheaper land

MAKE industrial land more affordable and encourage larger companies to the area. This would create jobs, before creating more residential land. There is enough land for sale as it is, prices of residential land has fallen 20% or more in the last 12 months or so.

Our blocks expensive

THE price of residential land on the Coast has not fallen. Existing house prices have fallen but land prices have increased. Sunshine Coast land is the dearest in Queensland, with a median price of $262,000, followed by the Gold Coast at $250,000, then Brisbane at $205,000, Mackay $175,000. …
