IT is hard to believe Remy Fairweather has just finished a 7km training session when she jumps out of the pool at the Kawana Aquatic Centre bursting with energy and ready to get on with her day.

The swim star will represent Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games at the Isle of Man from September 7-13.

The event attracts the best young athletes from 71 nations around the globe, but 14-year-old Remy is feeling comfortable about the challenge.

She is ranked No.6 in middle-distance freestyle in Australia and is the respective champion in her age group.

aI get a little nervous, but I am excited,a she said.

Coach Peter Gartell believes Remy has what it takes to make it to the top.

aShe is a natural with a strong heart. She is dedicated and this is her life,a he said.

Remy recently created history at the Queensland Short Course Championships, where she smashed several state records.

In July, she won both the 400m and 800m open women freestyle events at the Los Angeles Invitational. …
