Schools Top Class in NAPLAN Tests

FAIRHOLME College principal Linda Evans believes Toowoomba parents should be reassured about the standard of education available in Toowoomba.

She was speaking yesterday after national academic testing showed Fairholme College students were the head of their class after their recent success in national school tests.

Fairholme was one of the many Toowoomba schools which excelled in the recent NAPLAN tests, ranking in the top 10 in the state for the performance of their year 9 students.

Mrs Evans said although the test was not a complete measure of what any particular school was made up of, it was a useful tool to get a grasp on how students were travelling.

She said that while it was great to see Fairholme students perform well, seeing how well the Toowoomba region was represented was reassuring of the standard of education available. …
