BILAMBIL Jets won the 2011 Bycroft Cup premiership 34-30 in golden-point extra time on Sunday. It brought to an end a memorable season and today I've chosen the players I believe have been the competition's best in each position.

Some are young, some are older, some are flashy, offensive players, others are tireless workers, but the one thing they all have in common is the fact their respective clubs wouldn't be the same without them.

Fullback: Tyler Chadburn (Bilambil Jets)

The 17-year-old was outstanding in his rookie year picking up 17 tries and playing an integral part in the Jets' premiership win. Defensively safe at the back and dangerous whenever he has the ball in his hands, he will only get better as he matures.

Winger: Phil Dumelow

(Tugun)

Dumelow produced an astonishing 31 tries in just 16 games, including 11 in the finals series alone. Dumelow is lightning fast, extremely strong and seems to have an instinctive ability to sniff out try-scoring opportunities better than anybody else in the competition.

Centre: Luke Dumas

(Tugun)

Dumas completes Tugun's lethal left-side combination. Between he and Dumelow, Tugun's left side produced 47 tries in 2011 and Dumas' footwork and ability to beat players one-on-one contributed to many of them. An extremely talented and skilful outside back.

Five-eighth: Paul Rolls

(Bilambil)

The Jets would not have been able to achieve their breakthrough premiership without Rolls. He is one of the true leaders in the competition and his role in the team is vital. He has a strong kicking and passing game and also has the ability to run and take the line on when the opportunities present themselves.

Halfback: Danny Kerr

(Tugun)

What a season Kerr has had. An intelligent halfback with incredible acceleration who can set up as many tries as he scores. …
