Police Find High-Grade Dope Crop at Nimbin

POLICE have seized $730,000 worth of high-grade, mature cannabis plants from a hydroponically equipped rural property near Nimbin.

It was an early-morning start on Tuesday for police officers attached to the Richmond Target Action Group who descended on a Zouch Rd property at 7am.

On the two-dwelling property, police found two sophisticated indoor hydroponic-cultivation rooms containing 103 cannabis plants.

A further 159 cannabis plants were located on the property.

Fifty-one grams of cannabis resin and 186 grams of cannabis also were seized. Richmond Local Area Command crime manager Detective Acting Inspector Paul Fredericks said the cannabis had a potential street value of $730,000.

He said some of the mature plants were very high grade.
