Innovation Centre's Founder Moving On

THE founding CEO of the University of the Sunshine Coast Innovation Centre, Colin Graham, has resigned.

Mr Graham, who relocated from the UK at the end of 2001 to spearhead the centre, will be pursuing his own entrepreneurial business and consulting opportunities.

After starting with an empty building, it took Mr Graham (pictured) just 18 months to turn the centre into the Australian Regional Business Incubator of the Year.

It has since supported the start-up and growth of 83 businesses, creating more than 350 direct jobs in sectors such as ICT, clean technology and health technology.

In July last year it was recognised as an aInnovation Hotspota by CNBC, a European business magazine with 650,000 readers every month.

Announcing his resignation, Mr Graham said he was still very excited and positive about the opportunities for the region.
