Clydesdales Hopeful of Berth in FOGS

THE Toowoomba Clydesdales revival is gathering momentum as the famous rugby league club waits to hear whether its application for admission into the FOGS Cup under-20s is approved.

Toowoomba has the support of Central Division in its push for inclusion in the FOGS Cup colts and has lodged an application with the QRL for a berth in the 2012 competition.

Clydesdales chairman Paul Reedy is confident the application will be looked at favourably.

C[pounds sterling]They've done up a tentative draw and the Toowoomba Clydesdales are in it,C[yen] Reedy said.

C[pounds sterling]We've just got to hope some of the Brisbane clubs support our application but we're quite hopeful.C[yen]

The Clydesdales are calling for expressions of interest in coaching the under-20 side.

Reedy is after a Level 3 coach for the job as he wants to make an immediate impact in the Brisbane-based competition.

He said some promising talented players that had moved from the area had expressed an interest in playing for Toowoomba should it gain entry to the FOGS 20s. …
