TIGER WOODS returned to the PGA Tour today looking only for one thing - a victory.

The former world No 1 and 14-time major winner will relaunch his career at the Frys.com Open at CordeValle Golf Club near San Jose, having not played since failing to make the cut at the USPGA Championship owing to injury.

Since then, his ranking has fallen so much that he is now outside the world's top 50, while fresher names such as Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald have muscled him out at the top of the sport.

Woods, though, who has a new caddie in Joe LaCava and a rebuilt swing, claims incessant practice at his home course in Florida means he is ready to take on the world once more.

"I've been playing a lot of holes and getting my instincts back," Woods said. "Joey came out here a couple of days ago and worked the course and got all the numbers. …
