Gena Finds a New Home in Moree

THE ADORABLE cat Gena has been a familiar face in Clarence Life and Coastal Views. She has appeared for quite some time as one of the cats up for adoption from animal refuge Happy Paws.

Fortunately this will be the last you will see of her as she has found a loving new owner and home to go to.

Gena was part of a litter of kittens found under a house where their mother had given birth to them. The owners of the house happily fed them for a while but could not keep the cat or kittens so they called Happy Paws.

Gena and her brothers and sisters grew into affectionate, good-looking cats and found a place in the hearts of the volunteers at Happy Paws.

Fortunately, Gena has also found a place in the heart of a woman from Moree, Jenny, who spotted the cat on the Happy Paws website.

After a bit of correspondence with the shelter and a meeting in person, Jenny recently decided to adopt Gena and take her back to Moree. She has been renamed Roxy.

Happy Paws manager Sally Rogers said Jenny had been in regular contact with the shelter and said her new feline friend was settling in well. …
