ATLANTIC BEACH

- Several golf carts were damaged and course greens were torn up after someone broke into the pro shop and went golf-cart joyriding between Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 at Selva Marina Golf and Country Club, 1600 Selva Marina Drive. Police say a garage door to the pro shop was knocked off its hinges and at least six golf carts were taken out and driven around the golf course. About $5,000 in damage was estimated to be done to the golf carts and more was done to the putting greens on the course.

- A 48-year-old woman was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after a car ran a 40-year-old woman riding a bicycle off the road about 2 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 1600 block of Main Street. Police say the victim was riding the bicycle on the road along the right side when a car came up behind her and followed the victim closely. Then the car pulled ahead of the bicyclist and the car's driver started yelling at the woman on the bicycle. The bicyclist went the opposite direction and the car followed and bumped the bicyclist off the road. Responding police found the car and driver a short time later in the 1000 block of Mayport Road where she was arrested.

- A 55-year-old man was charged with domestic assault after a 23-year-old woman was slapped in the face during a dispute over a cell phone about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at a home in the first block of 11th Street West.

- Two 14-year-old boys were charged with burglary Sept. 23 after Neptune Beach police say they were found breaking into a car and once arrested, the boys admitted to several car burglaries in multiple locations in both Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach dating back to May 25.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH

- A 23-year-old woman was arrested for grand theft at 1 a.m. Sept. 24 for stealing a purse at the Ritz Bar at 185 Third Ave. N. Police said the owner of the purse left it with friends when she went to the ladies room, thinking they were watching it. When she returned the purse, which contained her wallet, car keys, cell phone, credit cards and $60 cash, was gone and she reported it missing to the bar. …
