Low Act of Theft from Charity Tins; Young Man Regarded as a Leader Steals from Guide Dogs and RSPCA

IT WAS a petty crime but a dog act Co stealing loose change from charity tins belonging to Guide Dogs Australia and the RSPCA.

Magistrate Athol Kennedy described the thefts Co committed by Louie Kris Co as C[pounds sterling]pretty ordinaryC[yen].

Kris pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing and one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, obstructing a police officer and breach of bail condition in the Mackay Magistrates Court on Friday.

Prosecutor Sheena Hayes said Kris stole the charity tins from the Mount Pleasant Shopping Centre on September 5.

There was $112.50 in the Guide Dogs tin and $125 in the RSPCA tin.

Kris was arrested the following day but not without a struggle and was also charged with obstructing police.

The charge of assault occasioning bodily harm arose from an incident on June 30 when Kris confronted a man in Bucasia and accused him of writing a letter.

The man said he didn't know what the letter was so Kris punched him. …
