IN a sprawling warehouse on the outskirts of town, $12 million worth of pristine new cars wait to make their momentous trip onto the showroom floor.

After a C[pounds sterling]crackerC[yen] of a September financial quarter, the team at Wippells Autos have stocked up on new cars for the end-of-year rush.

While international economies repeatedly hit fiscal brick walls, dealer principal David Russell said there was no place like Toowoomba to weather a financial storm.

With the group selling 270 new cars a month, the proof is in the pudding.
