Two Diverse Exhibitions a Must-See at Art Gallery; from Tidal Landscapes to Altered Books

TWO diverse exhibitions open at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery on Friday night.

One is inspired by the Fraser Coast's spectacular tidal landscapes, flora and fauna.

From Burrum to the Bay is a collection of beautiful paintings by Hervey Bay's Rolf Sieber.

aThe exhibition is like taking a walk along the foreshore from Burrum Heads to Hervey Bay and along Fraser Island,a Rolf said.

aThese paintings reflect the striking sunrises and sunsets, the light and shade which bring such a dynamic perspective to the landscape.a

The official opening function on Friday night gets under way at 6pm with an exploration of From Burrum to the Bay with artist Rolf Sieber, followed by a complementary supper.

Artist and educator Valerie McIntosh will have the honour of opening From Burrum to the Bay.

Paired with this exhibition will be Recycled Library: Altered Books traces a history of altered books in Australia through the work of 17 artists.

The works featured in the exhibition incorporate existing and found books presented as sculptures, wall-based collages, artists' books, or as photographs
