HER body was screaming for mercy and in this tough period Alana McGoldrick said the support of her brother Jacob got her over the line in the Dolphin Enduro surf lifesaving under-17 event at Lennox Head on Saturday.

Lennox resident McGoldrick's win allowed her to continue her golden run of recent weeks.

She won the Dash For Cash at the Jacob Lollback Memorial at Yamba and gained selection in the Gold Coast team to compete in the Queensland Inter-Branch titles on December 2-3.

The 16-year-old, who moved to Gold Coast club Northcliffe two years ago, won the event easily by about 50 metres in the windy conditions.

But she said her 15-year-old brother's steadfast support went a long way toward helping her win the 1km swim, 3km board and 3km run.
