YOUNG Scout group members are once again out on patrol for tokens to help them refurbish their headquarters.

The 1st Fairfield Scout Group has joined the Gazette's Wish campaign for the fourth time - and members are hoping Teessiders can give them a hand with much-needed refurbishment.

Last year the Scouts raised pounds 239, which went towards repairing the main hall at their base in Glenfield Road, Stockton. And any money raised this time will be used towards plastering and repair work in its entrance hall. Scout group leader Margaret North said: "We are self-funded, so the money from the campaign will help make the club so much more pleasant for young people to come along to.

"We will spend the money on paint and painting equipment."

The 1st Fairfield Scout Group was founded in 1944 and includes Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, and young and adult leaders.

It offers training in different aspects of Scouting, including map reading, pioneering, rock climbing and archery. …
