A CONVOY of vandals recruited online for a graffiti mission at Nambour Railway station have been uncovered after they were caught red-handed by police.

Three teenage boys as young as 16 from the Gold Coast and Ipswich came by train and car to Nambour on Wednesday night after being recruited for the hit on Facebook, according to police.

The trio and a 20-year-old man were allegedly caught in Colless Lane about 9.30pm in a Toyota with several spray cans in the boot of the vehicle.

Police intercepted the vehicle after responding to a call from Queensland Rail about offenders vandalising three train carriages at the railway station.

Two uniformed crews attended the scene and witnessed several people fleeing the scene on foot, according to police sources.

A search of the area allegedly located the suspect vehicle containing the group police claim was responsible.

Sunshine Coast police Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said the group told police officers they had seen on Facebook that there was going to be people adoing trainsa at Nambour. …
