ROCKHAMPTON'S Vera Latcham thinks Frenchville State School's pick-up and drop-off zone is an accident waiting to happen.

The Frenchville resident of five years this week said there were times when she had to sit through three green lights in a row to get through the intersection.

C[pounds sterling]Parents who want to pick their kids up are holding up the traffic that's trying to go straight ahead on Frenchville Rd,C[yen] Vera said.

C[pounds sterling]They are turning left into the school parking from the lights, and if there's no more room to turn left, they're just sitting at the green light waiting to turn in, instead of parking somewhere else and walking.C[yen]

The school is currently host to 850 children.

Vera said it was a traffic hazard that was backing up cars during pick-up and drop-off school hours.
