LEIGHTON Loughlin has a terrible traffic record for a 23-year-old man, with four convictions for disqualified driving and two for drink-driving.

Professional counsellors say his major problem is a lack of responsibility.

Loughlin was caught driving on Central Dr, Andergrove, at 11.30am on Wednesday, August 3 when Northern Beaches police stopped him for a licence check, prosecutor Bimal Raut told the Mackay Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He had been disqualified from driving since June 2, 2010, until June 1, 2012, and wasn't supposed to be driving.

He was driving to get some food for lunch and to cash in some Gold Lotto tickets at a newsagency.

His four-year-old daughter was in the car with him, and it was his father's car.

The court heard that Loughlin had been on probation and parole previously and had received repeated counselling about his responsibilities under the law and what other transport options were available to him instead of driving. …
