FUTSAL: Jordan Smyth will experience the opportunity of a lifetime next April.

The Year 9 student at Pioneer State High School has been selected to tour the UK with the Australian Vikings Futsal Association 15-year-old girl's team.

Remarkably she only took up the sport a little more than 12 months ago.

Her exemplary performances at the 2011 National School Futsal Titles however convinced selectors she needed to be part of the touring contingent.

Smyth received notification of her selection through the mail.

Futsal has quickly developed into her great sporting passion.

aI started in Year 8 and I was horrible,a she said.

aI could barely kick a futsal ball straight.

aI got into it at school, really trained hard and loved it.a
