AFTER a poor weekend last week at the Border Park Raceway, Lee Wylie struck back big time with three winners and two seconds.

When I spoke to Wylie on the phone he was over the moon with Saturday's results and was thinking about taking his handler a and mother-in-law a Robin McCalman and his wife out to tea. I told him that going to McDonald's doesn't count.

Lee and Keith Boan are going head-to-head for this year's top trainer award.

Lee won the opening race with Cool Mojoe, took out race four with Ticket To Go and completed a winning trifecta in race eight with Luv Ya Johnny.

His two seconds were courtesy of Kansas City Miss, which had a lead big enough to win a Melbourne Cup but got headed in the last stride, and Lillooet, which also led and got run down. …
