KEN Baker managed to get back a little bit of pride at the Murwillumbah Show after winning the commercial beef section a year after his son claimed the same prize.

Mr Baker's son Peter was not at the show this year to see his father's win because of work commitments but he certainly heard about it.

aPeter put the shield in the car and said a[approximately]You better bring it back',a Mr Baker said.

aThe shield has all the names of the past winners and it's good to see my name on there.a

Mr Baker managed to win the class after 20 years competing.

aMy word, the farmers take it seriously, it's pretty prestigious to win it,a he said.

aYou had to have a good steer to win it.

aThe judge of the show commended to everyone on the quality and consistency of the entries into the competition.a

Mr Baker said that calving in March made winning the commercial beef division difficult. …
