Westlawn Edges Brothers Amos's Hot Streak with Bat Continues

WESTLAWN Jacaranda Hotel captain Daniel Amos's purple patch with the bat continued on Monday night, when he guided his team to a thrilling two-wicket victory over Brothers McKimms Real Estate.

The plucky left-hander belted 93 not out in his team's total of 8-180.

Amos showed his intentions early, blasting his first delivery to the point boundary with a classic square-cut.

The Westlawn skipper has been C[pounds sterling]in the zoneC[yen] this season, timing the ball to perfection.

But he said luck had a lot to do with his match-winning innings.

C[pounds sterling]A bit of luck goes a long way,C[yen] Amos said.

C[pounds sterling]I was a bit scratchy at the start of my innings but began to find the middle of the bat.

C[pounds sterling]But as I said, luck had a bit to do with it. I got dropped three times and they weren't difficult catches.C[yen]

Batting first, Brothers were in disarray early, losing three wickets for seven runs before Andrew Lancaster (39) and Jared Lynch (56 not out) steadied the ship. …
