Thousands Pay Respects to Jimmy

THE nephew of Sir Jimmy Savile said his uncle would have "reveled" in the thousands of people who visited his coffin to say goodbye.

Roger Foster, 66, from Goole, East Yorkshire, said his uncle would have been the first in line to pay his respects at The Queens Hotel, in Leeds.

He described the broadcasting legend's gold casket as his "final piece of bling".

Mr Foster was speaking at the hotel after viewing the tribute to his uncle.

Thousands of people have filed past the coffin and memorabilia in the hotel bar before signing books of condolence.

"I think he would revel in it because this is what he was about.

"Just mixing with people, meeting with people," Mr Foster said. "I think he would be the first one in line to pay his respects."

Mr Foster said himself and his cousin, Mandy McKenna, had organised most of the details of the three-day funeral, including the unusual choice of coffin.
