North Ormesby Cup Run Is Brought to an End by Athletic

NORTH Ormesby bowed out of the North Riding Senior Cup after losing 4-1 to Wearside League side Redcar Athletic.

Second division Guisborough Town lost 1-0 to first division Great Ayton United in the second round of the Macmillan Bowl.

The two cubs will also meet in the North Riding County Cup.

Richmond Mavericks had a comfortable 4-0 victory over second division Billingham Synthonia, Adam Emson scoring all four goals.

Thornaby Dubliners had the chance to go ahead after 25 minutes against Richmond Town when Jason Newall was sent off and a penalty awarded but Gareth Poole had his kick saved and the 10 men of Richmond went on to win 2-1. Cargo Fleet have a five-point lead at the top of Division One. They beat Fishburn Park 3-0 with three late goals.

Thornaby Dubliners were on cup duty which gave Whinney Banks YCC the chance to climb into second - and they did with a 6-0 victory over Dormans.

Danny Lockwood and Jordan Wilson scored a brace each.

BEADS drew 3-3 with Grangetown Boys' Club.

Darlington Rugby Club took advantage of Guisborough Town being on cup duty to take over at the top of Division Two.

They did it in style by winning 6-0 at St Mary's College. Chris Thompson scored a hat-trick.

New Marske beat Mill Hill 8-1, with Jack Green and Andy Tose both scoring twice, and Yarm drew 2-2 with Stockton West End.

In the North Riding Challenge Cup, Redcar Athletic had a 6-0 victory over Brotton RA of the Eskvale & Cleveland League.

Redcar Newmarket had to come from behind to beat F1 Racing. Northallerton Town's match against Scarborough side Newland Park Hotel was postponed due to waterlogged pitches at both venues.

Grangetown YCC drew 2-2 with visitors Stockton Churches Portrack, but lost the penalty shoot-out 5-4 and Hope Athletic lost 4-0 to Eskvale and Cleveland League side Hollybush United.
