Kyle Aiming for Licence after Driving Event Win

MOTOR SPORT: Southside's Kyle Honour may only be on his learners, but that hasn't stopped the young racer from winning the Queensland junior motorkhana title.

Last weekend Kyle, 16, went into the final round of the competition, at Brisbane, knowing he already had enough points to win and just ahad some funa.

Kyle admitted he spent the whole race sideways, going as fast as he could in his six-cylinder 1985 BMW 323i.

The most amazing thing about the driving prodigy is he had never before raced in the motorkhana competition and late last year won his first competition.

His father and uncle had raced for years. And in Gladstone, his dad Kevin said Kyle could have a go in the junior competition.

No one expected the Central Coast Car Club member to win, but with his uncle in the passenger seat guiding Kyle, his years of karting experience paid off.

After that shock win, Kevin asked Kyle if he wanted to do the championship, and at the first round at Rockhampton in March Kyle won again. …
