A WOMAN tragically lost treasured family photographs when a squatter inhabited her dead mother's home and burned them in the backyard.

Maroochydore's Anne Isobel Lamont had been living in the Russell Island home where she had rummaged through drawers and wardrobes, scattering items throughout each room of the home.

She had even written aAnne was heara (sic) in blue marker pen on the dining room wall.

Maroochydore District Court heard this week it was one of two homes Lamont inhabited illegally in 2008.

She was found trapped under a tractor at a Bauple property, between Gympie and Maryborough, on November 19 that year.

Her leg was jammed between the back left tyre and a wooden post and she was trapped overnight.

She had to be airlifted to Nambour General Hospital where she spent more than a month because she sustained significant damage to nerve endings in her legs.

The court heard Lamont's case had been rejected from the Mental Health Court. …
