NEW signing Chris Fairless has proved an instant hit at Stocksfield and his last-gasp winner gave them three points at Ponteland United.

Fairless fired in a penalty on his debut for the Griffins last weekend and he repeated the feat to give them a lead which was cancelled out soon after as the unlucky Chris Hill put into his own net.

However, as the clock ticked down Fairless struck again and was mobbed by his team-mates.

Ashley Pattinson''s double helped move Carlisle City to the top of the table. He hit the 25th-minute opener against Shankhouse and former Annan Athletic midfielder Ian Grainger made it two before the break. Ex-Carlisle United full-back Steven Rook drilled in the third and Pattinson completed the scoring.

Lee Richardson, Dan Beresford, Kyle Devlin and Craig Hopwood all found the net for Blyth Town at Rutherford, with Shaun Todhunter pulling one back, and Hebburn Reyrolle also struck four times on the road. …
