Raiders Roll out Red Carpet to Prospects

ABOUT 40 prospective players attended a Tweed Coast Raiders Rugby League Club senior grades meet-and-greet day at Cabarita Bowls Club on Sunday.

The Raiders, who will campaign in the Gold Coast-Tweed competition from next season, after switching from the Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League, are going all-out to ensure they have a strong player base.

Newly appointed head coach Arwin Marcus was delighted with the appearance of a number of quality players, who all expressed interest in linking with the Raiders, after spending an enjoyable afternoon meeting prospective teammates, playing bare-foot bowls on Cabarita's superb greens and feasting on sausage sandwiches, washed down with a few thirst-quenching ales.

Marcus was reticent about naming the gun players, in deference to their wishes.

aWe'll give them time to go away and think about their decision on whether they want to pull on a jersey for us next year,a he said. …
