WOMEN have been told that if we continue moving at the pace we are today, they will have to wait another 179 years for equality in business.

The Australian Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry says this is totally unacceptable and one of the many reasons women are walking out of corporations and starting up their own businesses.

The AWCCI is offering the 700,000 women running their own small businesses in Australia the opportunity to stand up and be counted.

aWe understand prevention is better than cure,a said AWCCI CEO Yolanda Vega.

aInformation is power and we need the information to ensure success for our economy and the small businesses that are the backbone of this country.a

The AWCCI national research project wants to hear from women in rural, regional, remote and urban Australia.

aIf you are a sole trader or run a small, medium or large business we want to hear from you,a Ms Vega said.
