NETBALL: Australia finished third at the World Netball Series, having lost just one of seven matches during the modified rules tournament in Britain.

The Diamonds were unbeaten going into yesterday's semi-final against England but struggled to penetrate the home team's experienced defence and lost 27-17.

While England went on to win the series, beating New Zealand 33-26 in the final, the Diamonds claimed third place with a 32-24 victory over Jamaica.
