THREE Premier Division teams were competing in the second round proper of the Durham Sunday Cup.

Two sides made it through to the third round. Hardwick Social Club had a 4-2 home win over Blackhall Hardwick. Jamie Owens led the way with a hat-trick and James Wilson also scored.

Billingham Cons enjoyed a fine 5-0 win away to Boldon Big Club. Paul Wilson hit a hat-trick and two goals for Anthony Abel sealed the win.

Rosegale N&SA went down 3-1 to Witton Park Rose & Crown.

In Division One Billingham The Merlin lost their unbeaten tag when they went down 3-2 to rivals Billingham Cowpen Club. Ben Lynch, Callum Alderson and man of the match Shaun Fields scored for Cowpen and Merlin replied through James McLeod and Chris Garbutt.

Billingham The Kings gained their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory against Norton Unicorn thanks to goals from Peter Conway, Daniel Docherty and substitute Peter Harbron. Andrew Thomas and Daniel Thomas replied for Unicorn. …
