LAST week's action in Nudgee was described as some C[pounds sterling]good country cricketC[yen] by Queensland Country Cricket administrator Eric Adams.

C[pounds sterling]When the under-19 Queensland Country Cricket side faces the under-17s Queensland state side there is always some great cricket played and this year was no exception,C[yen] Adams said.

C[pounds sterling]The country cricket was of a particularly high standard.C[yen]

The first day of cricket saw a Twenty20 match between the sides which saw Country take its first win for the week.

But it was the two-dayer, which started on Tuesday, which hosted all of the action.

The under-17s batted first up declaring at 9 for 308, which the under-19s responded to with 6 for 313.

C[pounds sterling]Gladstone boys Mitchell Inwood and David Heymer demonstrated some great skill,C[yen] Adams said.

C[pounds sterling]Inwood had a go at bowling and although that's not why he was chosen in the side he still managed to bowl a few out,C[yen] Adams said. …
