ARCHERY: Sunshine Coast Olympics aspirant Ryan Tyack and a host of the nation's best archers converged on Buderim's Ballinger Park yesterday for the final day of a national qualification and ranking event.

Tyack was among the star performers during the four-day tournament, which proved a high-scoring and entertaining affair.

C[pounds sterling]Archers know that shooting at our club (Sunshine Coast Archery Club) is one of the best places in the world to shoot high scores because the trees protect us from the wind,C[yen] Tyack said.

And there were plenty of first-class competitors looking to make the most of the situation, as they attempted to bolster their national rankings.

C[pounds sterling]We've got the number one ranked archers in all four divisions here,C[yen] Tyack said of those leading the open men's recurve, open women's recurve, open men's compound and open women's compound divisions.C[yen]

Among them is the 20-year-old from Mapleton, who is on top of the open men's recurve rankings. …
