A GROUP of hairdressers are hoping some Saks appeal will sell their cheeky charity calendar.

The staff from Saks Hair Salon, in Yarm, stripped for the calendar to raise money for a cancer charity.

The Calendar Girls-inspired strip was the brainwave of Sarah Ross and Claire Bateman, who are also running the 2012 London Marathon to raise funds for The Paul Southgate Research fund.

Sarah, 37, has worked at the hair salon for around 20 years and thought it would be an ideal location for the calendar shoot.

The mum-of-two said her colleagues - who all work at Saks apart from Claire - were more than happy to shed their clothes for such a good cause. But come the day of the photo-shoot, the nerves - as well as plenty of flesh - began to show.

"It was one of the most terrifying but funniest days of my life," said Sarah.

Husbands and partners have been very supportive. "My husband has analysed the calendar a few times," she laughed. …
