ALAN PARDEW believes Swansea City will have their work cut out if they are attempting to suffocate the life out of Newcastle United tomorrow.

The game will see two former Reading bosses do battle at St James', with Swansea manager Brendan RodgS ers hoping to improve on their poor away form.

The Swans are yet to win on the road this term and, whilS e Pardew has respect for the Welsh side, he wants his side to control the pace of the game.

He told the Chronicle: "We want our tempo to be high and the tempo to be full pace like it was against Tottenham.

"We will expose ourselves at times because we want to push the proceedings.

"Swansea will have to do very well to stop you doing that.

"They get you into a lull and then pick you of."

Swansea have leaked goals on the road this season and on three occasions have conceded four times in their opening few months of life in the Premier League. …
