Little Mix Gives Wasps the X-Factor in Cup Clash

LONDON WASPS 25 BAYONNE 11 ELLIOT DALY today hailed Wasps' mix of youth and experience after a 14-point win put the club in pole position to qualify for the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

The two-time Heineken Cup champions celebrated their 100th European fixture by defeating their French opponents last night with a combination of big-match nous and youthful exuberance.

Lock Marco Wentzel, 32, claimed the man-of-the-match award, and fly-half Nick Robinson, 29, kicked 17 points.

Their contributions were complemented by some gutsy performances from the younger players. Christian Wade, 20, enhanced his reputation with some mazy runs from wing, Charlie Davies, 21, impressed after he came on for England scrum-half Joe Simpson (head injury) at half-time and centre Daly's defence and penalty kick from his own half were crucial.

The 19-year-old believes Wasps' older players, including his centre partner Riki Flutey are proving the perfect influence on their younger team-mates.

"It's great having people around you who have played so much Premiership rugby," he said.

"Riki helps me keep my head screwed on. I just want to go and run around, but you can't always do that and he tells me that.

"Me and Wadey played together in the England Under 20s Six Nations, so we know each other well. …
