KIERON DYER will play no further part for Queens Park Rangers this season after suffering another injury to the left foot that has kept him out of action for four months.

Standard Sport understands Dyer limped off just minutes into his comeback match for the reserves against Tottenham on Tuesday after a blow to his foot.

Dyer, who signed for Rangers as a free agent after being released by West Ham in the summer, will have an operation on Monday to cure the problem, but faces several more weeks on the sidelines.

He has been out since being carried off seven minutes into his debut against Bolton on the opening day of the season. Dyer suffered a chipped bone and a ligament injury and it is believed the ligament, which is below the bone, is now the cause for concern.

The former England international was only given a one-year contract when he joined Rangers due to an injury record which had seen him play just 30 games in the previous four years at Upton Park.

The club also added a clause to further protect themselves which stated that they could break the deal in January if he was having more fitness problems.

However, manager Neil Warnock told Standard Sport today that they will stand by Dyer even though he will no longer be a part of his first team plans. …
