Stars Shine Brightly at School's Nativity; Concert Is Cause for Celebration after Successful Year

THESE children ended the school term in fine voice.

The pupils at Fell Dyke Community Primary School in Gateshead staged a Christmas carol concert and nativity play for proud parents yesterday.

It was the perfect way for the school in Wrekenton to mark the start of the festive break. It also provided an opportunity for the school to celebrate its Key Stage 2 exam results with families, friends and guests.

This week, the latest Government figures showed the school had achieved a perfect score of 100%, with all of its Year Six pupils achieving the target level four in English and maths this summer.

The carol concert - which saw the children perform a range of traditional Christmas songs - and nativity was the last event in the school's funpacked festive programme. The children and staff had already staged a variety of shows, which made sure pupils of all ages got the chance to take centre stage.

The nursery and reception class put on their performance of "The Story of Daniel: The Christmas Donkey", whilst pupils in Years 1 and 2 staged a play called "Shine Star Shine". …
