French Criminal Probe into 'Nazi Stag Night' Tory

FRENCH prosecutors today launched a criminal inquiry over a Tory MP and 12 of his friends who attended an alleged Nazi-themed stag night at an Alpine ski resort.

Aidan Burley, 32, and others in the stag group could face large fines or up to six months in jail if convicted, said prosecutors, after magistrates received an allegation of "inciting racial hatred and glorifying crimes against humanity".

Mr Burley, MP for Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, and his friends were allegedly filmed during the stag party at a restaurant in Val Thorens on December 3. It is claimed another man in the group wore a replica SS uniform, and that a guest sitting beside Mr Burley toasted "the ideology and thought process of the Third Reich".

After moving on to a Britishthemed pub, some of the group allegedly chanted: "Mein Fuhrer" then "Himmler" and Eichmann".

Julien Andrez, counsel for the restaurant, said they had filed a criminal complaint, as had Hamdy Boussouiba, director of French pressure group SOS Racism. …
