Article excerpt

ON behalf of the Warwick Women's Golf Committee we would like to thank you for all your help in promoting our wonderful club during the 2011 season.

Gerard is always so wonderful, and is genuinely interested when he comes to cover our extra special events.

We would also like to thankyou for the opportunity to publish our weekly round-up of notes in your Wednesday Sports Column, it is a fantastic way to keep all of our members up to date with the happenings of our club.

I know myself, that when I sit down in the morning, my toast and coffee wouldn't be the same without the Daily to keep us up with what is happening around the district, and in particular on Wednesdays when we read about what is happening around the ridges in sport, but especially at the golf club.

So on behalf of the retiring 2011 committee, and all the members of the Warwick Golf Club, many many thanks to you all down in Albion St for all you have done for us during 2011.

We wish you all a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.

Michelle Wright

I praise our parks and gardens staff for the fine job they do in maintaining these public areas for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.

It is not an easy job.

Perhaps this potential councillor is confused with another region? Perhaps the region where he came from?

I would like all potential councillors to realize that as a voter I can not be won over with populist rhetoric.

We here in the Southern Downs have unique challenges to meet and we need unique, well-informed and tenacious people to lead our region for the next four years and beyond. …
