WHEN you first hear about rock'n'roll dancing in Gladstone, you may immediately think it's somewhat like the musical Grease.

But rock'n'roll teacher Cheryl Hannant said the style and dancing was on the other side of that 1950s era.

C[pounds sterling]Some of those wiggle skirts, the pencil skirt is the rockabilly style. Grease with the big skirts, flat shoes and socks, that's the young teenybopper style,C[yen] she said.

C[pounds sterling]Rock'n'roll is more with attitude. The biker guys and their girlfriends, it wasn't so accepted by the older generation in the '50s. They were more the rebels.C[yen]

Just Rock Gladstone will celebrate its 10th birthday this Easter, and the club has built quite a following with all ages taking part through the years.

C[pounds sterling]We're probably getting more people in their '50s at the moment,C[yen] Ms Hannant said.

C[pounds sterling]It would be lovely to get the young ones. We have a few young couples and we have had some children in the past. …
