MISS Beverley Connors, daughter of Mr and Mrs JP Connors of Miller Street will be married to Mr Colin Bruce Winkler, of Armidale in St. Mary's Church, Grafton, today.

MISS Nola May James, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C James of River Street, Maclean, will be married to John Edwin Harvey, son of Mr and Mrs G. Harvey of Ashby in St James' Church of England, Maclean, today.

THE death occurred in Sydney yesterday after a short illness of Mr Athol (Dohy) Arndell. The late Mr Arndell formerly resided with his parents at South Grafton, and was one of the district's leading sportsmen, being a first grade representative player in both football and cricket. He is survived by his widow and three daughters and three brothers, Spencer (Sydney), George and Albert (Grafton).

VISITORS to Brooms Head have seen a flock of emus on the coastal plain adjacent to the beach. They stay all day unless disturbed. According to local residents the flock of emus has been in these parts for years. …
