Pup Inspires Young Pups; Clarke's Centuries and Style Get the Next Generation onto the Pitch and Going for It

AUSTRALIAN Test cricket captain Michael Clarke scored a whopping 334 runs at the Sydney Cricket ground yesterday a a performance set to inspire kids around the country.

Jye Paterson, 12, is a cluey batsman and skipper in his own right and he chalked up more runs than any other player in the 28th annual Lismore Cricket Carnival this week.

Jye admired Clarke's talent.

aHe's a good batter and a good captain,a Jye said. aHe gets forward to the ball.a

Jye captained the Tamworth Junior Cricket Club under-12s to two victories and made 104 runs in four games this week.

In his first match on Tuesday, and in dashing style, Jye got 40 runs and was then forced to retire because batsmen weren't allowed to make more in this week's games.

Who knows a might the young lad have gone on to better Clarke's triple ton?

Yesterday though, Jye was run out and said he was disappointed because it was a asoft way to get outa. …
