TEAM Northumbria's foreign legion can fire the imagination of netball fans across the North East as Superleague action returns to Tyneside.

That is the verdict of rookie coach Lisa Stanley after the former England star had a first glimpse of her imports in action.

TN handed a debut to Kiwi enforcer Emma Woodings in the pre-season Fast Net event in Manchester.

There was also a first taste of top-flight action for Aussie Sam Holt after the defensive star missed the entire 2011 campaign with injury.

Throw in the fact freescoring Namibian Toetsie Kambatuku is back for a second spell at Sport Central and confidence is high in the TN camp.

Stanley said: "Emma looks like a real player and we are very excited about what she can bring to the squad.

"Sam has been with us for some time but has never played an NSL game so it is like having a new player.

"Toetsie can hit the ground running this year after joining us midway through the 2011 season. …
