Dreaded Shopping Trip Not So Bad

I HAVE a confession to make.

A few weeks ago I spoke about the Boxing Day sales and how I basically said I would never bother with them again.

Well, as I predicted before Christmas Day my letterbox was bursting with junk mail espousing the bargains I could get come December 26.

I casually perused them until something caught my eye.

I needed three new school bags this year for my girls and it seemed to cover all the requirements.

The only catch was that the sale started on Boxing Day.

Cue the inner turmoil of deciding whether in fact it was worth it to go shopping on the one day of the year I had planned to avoid.

As you can probably guess Co I went.

And I was mildly surprised.

Not that I expected the stores to be heaving with customers, but it was busy, but not crazy busy.

That was unless you were going to buy Christmas decorations/tableware that was all now half price. And plenty of people were. I saw trolley's laden with Christmas paraphernalia that would be dutifully tucked away for next 12 months. …
