Cycling Group Beckons, but Art of Balance Eludes Would-Be Rider

SATURDAY morning I had to get up early.

I know, I know, not good.

But it was all in the name of work and, I can proudly say, well worth it.

It was to meet the Gladstone Bike Centre's Saturday morning riders, but not on course, rather enjoying a coffee.

The group of 26 had just ridden 33km or 38km to get to the Coffee Club, but you would never have guessed it.

They were happy and joking, not exhausted at all.

I was so impressed with their camaraderie.

I felt as though I had been riding with them for years. They laughed with me and I laughed with them.

If you were new to town, or even a long-term resident, they would be the perfect group to hook-up with a instant friends.

Even if you have never ridden they are open to everyone. Even I was invited to ride.
