RUGBY league finally returns to Toowoomba on Saturday when Diamond Oval hosts the third annual Indigenous Knockout Rugby League Carnival.

Three Toowoomba-based teams and nine visiting sides will duke it out for big cash prizes and the prestigious Cec Docherty Memorial Shield.

Last year's winners Maso's Mob will return for the home city along with the Warriors and John Lucas Memorial Murri Stars.

Visiting teams are Chinchilla, St George, Cunnamulla All Stars, Oakey Reconciliation Red Belly Blacks, Kambu Warriors from Ipswich, Kamilaroi Huters from Dalby, Stradbroke Murris United, CWM Titans and Goomeroi Warriors.

This year all sides are guaranteed two games each with a losers pool to contest the Jason Clevin Memorial Plate Shield.
