WE WROTE: A public meeting organised for residents to discuss council spending plans was cancelled after missing one key ingredient - the public. Not a single resident turned up for the budget consultation meeting in Middlesbrough Town Hall.

goodcopbadcop I would like to think that it was because the people of our town hold the councillors and the mayor in contempt. Not only do the make a mess of the budgets which leads to services being reduced or scrapped, they have the audacity to put up council tax, against government advice and with the promise of financial help.
